Newborns need not be so frequently bathed as older babies or tiny kids. The skin of a baby can dry up too rapidly and should be no more than a sponge bath with an umbilical stump still attached. You must be extra cautious to avoid accidents when you bathe a baby.
For the first 3 weeks, use a sponge bath. The umbilical cord of a newborn stump remains fixed for up to three weeks. The American Pediatrics Academy advises waiting for a baby to fall into the water. You should stay in sponge baths during this moment
To offer your newborn a sponge bath, you need arrange of supplies ready. Before starting the bathing process, make sure that you have supplies.
Bathe your baby. You can start bathing your baby, when your supplies are all at one location.
Choose a bath or sink, or a newborn to bathe in a bath. You may bath her in a bath or sink after your newborn’s umbilical cord stump falls off. Ensure your baby’s secure choice of a sink or tub.

Figure how you can keep your baby in the bathroom. Your child is safe and secure in the bathroom. Take it so he’s comfortable and doesn’t move too much.
Wash the baby. It should take no more than 10 or 15 minutes for a newborn shower.
