While all children grow at varying speeds, these recommendations do recommend how and when to feed your child.
Babies need solid food and breast milk or formula from 6 months of age.
Wonder whether you feed enough breast milk, fresh food or solid food to your baby? We have broken down some of the standards for food — but bear in mind that every child needs varying quantities according to body weight, appetite and age. Check if your doctor is uncertain. Ask your doctor.
Begin to have solid food at the age of 6 months (not before 4 months).
Your baby can at first only take tiny quantities of solid food.
Start to feed your baby solids two or three times a day once a week.
Give your baby products for breakfast , lunch and dinner for eight to nine months.
Offer your baby breast milk or formula for 6 to 9 months, then milk solids. You can first give solids, then milk, after 9 months. This helps your baby to naturally transition to solids by about 12 months from formula or breast feeding.
The first solid foods of your baby should have iron. Iron-fortified food includes iron grain, beef, poultry , fish, tofu and legumes, including lentils, beans and chickpeas.
The first solid meal of your baby should be creamy, lump-free purees. You should do that with a blender by yourself.
You will make the baby’s formula a little more thicker whenever you eat food from a spoon. There’s soft lumps all right.
Top 5 food that can be given as solid food to baby but remember to mash lump-free purees
Pumpkins, sweet potatoes , onions, pumpkins, broccoli, caulifloss and zucchini-have the baby fried and pureed. Purify them less progressively and make the material thicker. Then introduce cooked, but not purified, vegetables.
Pure apples, pears, peaches, apricots and berries or rippled bananas, make the fruit your baby. Place cooked berries, bananas, peach and raw apples steadily. Stop bigger raw apple pieces; babies will shock them.
Grains and cereals – start with your child’s improved child’s cereals (e.g. rice cereal). Switch to cooked rolling oats, full-grain breakfast biscuits or dense baby ceral (Weetbix, Vita Brits). Do not add sugar or butter or use chocolate or refined sugar for cereals.
fish, meat, egg ,legumes, tofu — purify them in the beginning. In embracing this, your baby will give them poultry, chopped meat and fresh or flaked canned fish (in spring water), tofu mashed, pulled legumes and boiled eggs scrambled or rolled. Don’t add salt to skip foods, since they have plenty of salts as well.
Milk, cheese, yoghurt – breast milk or formula may be transferred to foods such as porridge up to 12 months and minimal quantities of milk may then be added. Grated cheese in mashed vegetables is fine. Without adding fat, select yoghurt. Attach additional flavor strawberry.
Newborn to 6 Months
Breast milk or food can be used to give newborns more calories. Here’s an attempted failure.
Breast Milk: most newborns consume 1-2 ounces of breast milk per feeding, as reported by the American Academy of Pediatrics ( AAP). Babies aged 2 months normally eat 4-5 onces every 3-4 hours and babies aged 6 months eat about 8 onces each 4-5 hours. See this article for information about whether your child gets enough breast milk.
Formula: A formula-fed kid will take 2-3 ounces per diet and, according to AAP, will consume every 3 to 4 hours. The sum is normally 1 ounce more per month. Amy Lynn Stockhausen, M.D., Associate Professor of Pediatric and Young Medicine at the Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, says that you feed the infant with a 2.5 ounce formula in pounds of body weight.
Most experts suggest that solids be begun roughly four to six months according to preparation. Before a kid turns 4 months, you can never add solids.
Age between Six to eight months
About all her calories can either come from breast milk or formula, says Natalie Muth, MD, R.D.N., co-author of The Picky Eater Project while the infant is six to eight months old. Targeted at feeding baby between 32-36 ounces a day, or giving breast milk to him every 3-4 hours.
Since Baby always gets much of his liquid calories, do not worry because he is bite after bite from solid food. Fed 2-4 tablespoons of food per day (and as few as one each few days). Provide foodstuffs like single grain iron and grains , fruits and meats, as well as pureed grains. (Do not inject more than one food at a time to detect likely allergic reactions or digestive problems.)
You can also start selling finger foods such as tight broccoli, tomatoes, cereal, cottage cheese and saucepans roughly 6-9 months. “One thing I enjoy about casseroles is that you can add a lot of casseroles if the kid likes the base flavour.
Age between Nine -Twelve months
When the baby reaches 9 to 12 months, it is expected either to eat 16 to 24 oz of the formula every 4 to 5 hours or to give it breast milk. “Approximately the half of the calorie of your infant should be from diet by 9 to 12 months, and the other half from breast milk or formula, says Dr. Muth.
Babies of this era seem to have a strange palate — such when they have learnt to eat well, do not be afraid to offer their captured nibbles from your plate. Do not take it for yourself, if you want more calories, but if you drive the calories out.
Babies tend to play with their snacks, so take yoghurt and oatmeal for vegetables or entire-grain crackers as well. Note to cut down or dice foods to avoid thin, round, rough or the size of the airway of an infant.
Age after twelve month later
“The bulk of baby calories can come from finely chopped meals after the first birthday,” says Dr. Muth. Serve all of the milk in a sippy cup for meals and snacks to fulfil the calcium needs. The kin can drink roughly two or three cups a day. Setting meals and snacks can also be worthwhile, since he would be hungry and eager to explore new items.
